The photos on our website (unless otherwise credited in the photo caption or name) have been taken and generously donated for use by two talented Kalmiopsis Audubon Society members:
Photographer Lois Miller specialized in birds. When she was not working her day job, she was out with her camera, mucking around in marshes, scoping at the Port, exploring the lake and other local habitats – even getting down on her belly in the sand to get a great shot.
Lois’s photos were featured in an exhibit at the University of Oregon and in several galleries on the Oregon Coast, including the Point B Studio Gallery in Port Orford’s Battle Rock business district.
Her photos were published in a variety of publications including, Oregon Birds, the Oregon Birding Trail brochure and in our own Kalmiopsis Audubon Society Storm Petrel.
She also placed in several national photo competitions, including ones in Parade Magazine, Audubon Magazine and The Great Backyard Bird Count.
We are very sad to report that Lois died on January 13, 2016.
