Places We’re Protecting

Kalmiopsis Audubon cares about the lands and waters of Oregon’s south coast – from the stark crest of the Siskiyou Mountains to the stunning sea stacks of our rugged coastline.

Our work is fundamentally place-based, and we continually engage our members to learn more about the extraordinary values of our special corner of Oregon and advocate for protection of the places we all love.

While there are many places we could talk about, here are a few of the places we treasure – areas where we are currently working to find long-term conservation solutions. Click on each one to learn more about the place and the ongoing work of KAS to protect their unique habitats!

There are many special places in our county, and many more that KAS has worked to protect in recent or past years – including the Chetco River (the wildest on the West Coast!) and the wealth of seabird colonies on off-shore sea stacks. More to come on these (and more) soon!
